Senior AI Engineer

NorthBay is seeking a Senior AI Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in data science, specializing in data processing, visualization, and structuring. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying advanced analytics to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and designing sophisticated predictive models to enhance forecasting capabilities. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and deliver data-driven solutions that align with business objectives. The position is full-time and based in Karachi, offering a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and optimization of large language model (LLM)-driven systems and agentic AI workflows.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for extracting, structuring, and processing large volumes of data to support AI initiatives.
- Integrate LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, and Llama into data workflows to improve automation, insight generation, and business intelligence.
- Collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for adopting LLMs and agentic AI in operational processes.
- Build Python-based tools and scripts focused on data processing, visualization, and automating decision-making workflows.
- Conduct research and benchmarking of cutting-edge open-source and proprietary AI models to ensure alignment with project and product goals.
- Implement data monitoring solutions and automated pipelines to guarantee the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of deployed models and data systems.
- Contribute to generative AI (GenAI) initiatives by experimenting with new AI frameworks and agentic architectures to drive innovation.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, data engineering, or AI-focused roles.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs such as GPT-4/5, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar models.
- Strong expertise in agentic AI systems and their application in business or technical workflows.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including data manipulation, API integration, prompt engineering, and workflow automation.
- Solid understanding of data structuring, processing, and visualization techniques.
- Proven success in building and deploying data-centric and AI-assisted solutions.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical projects on time.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.
