Senior AI Engineer

We are seeking a skilled developer to design and build advanced AI systems leveraging large language models (LLMs) to enhance enterprise knowledge management and automate complex workflows. The role involves creating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems using enterprise documents to establish searchable knowledge bases. The ideal candidate will develop intelligent AI agents capable of analyzing insurance and reinsurance submissions, identifying necessary next steps, missing information, and relevant documents. This position requires hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI frameworks and integration of multiple data sources to deliver scalable, production-grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop LLM-powered RAG systems that utilize enterprise documents to create efficient, searchable knowledge bases.
- Build AI agents that analyze insurance and reinsurance submissions, accurately identifying required next actions, missing information, and relevant documentation.
- Develop agentic workflows using LLM tool and function calling, employing frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Semantic Kernel.
- Create tools enabling AI agents to interact seamlessly with vector databases, SQL and enterprise databases, APIs, web search engines, and internal applications.
- Architect multi-agent systems where AI agents communicate, delegate tasks, and collaborate effectively to solve complex problems.
- Implement document ingestion processes including chunking, embeddings, vector search, hybrid search, and reranking to optimize information retrieval.
- Integrate commercial and open-source LLMs and embedding models to enhance system capabilities.
- Develop natural language database querying and Text-to-SQL functionalities with robust security and access controls.
- Build feedback loops and evaluation mechanisms to support continuous improvement and self-learning of AI systems.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, evaluation, hallucination and grounding checks, alongside AI security measures and guardrails.
- Deploy and integrate AI services within existing enterprise applications and databases to ensure smooth operational workflows.

Required Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Python programming and backend development.
- Hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and AI agents.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools for building AI workflows.
- Experience with tool calling, function calling, agent orchestration, and multi-agent system design.
- Solid knowledge of SQL, database management, and API integration.
- Practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, as well as vector databases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven track record of building production-grade generative AI applications rather than prototypes.
- Understanding of insurance, reinsurance, underwriting, submissions, and related workflows is highly advantageous.
