Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer - DevOps & Technical Leadership

We seek an experienced Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer to join us early, take significant responsibility, and grow alongside the company. This full-time, remote role involves end-to-end project ownership, from initial requirements through deployment and ongoing maintenance, across multiple products and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain frontend and backend web applications.
- Build AI-powered features, integrations, internal tools, and business automations.
- Utilize AI coding assistants and agentic workflows with appropriate testing and human oversight.
- Translate business requirements into clear implementation tasks and acceptance criteria.
- Design APIs, business logic, authentication, authorization, and third-party integrations.
- Manage database schemas, migrations, query performance, backups, and recovery.
- Administer Linux servers, including services, permissions, updates, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain Docker environments, handling container networking, storage, configuration, and health checks.
- Manage DNS records, domain routing, TLS certificates, and reverse proxies.
- Maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and build agents.
- Execute deployments with migration checks, rollback plans, and post-deployment verification.
- Investigate production incidents and resolve root causes.
- Coordinate outsourced developers and specialists, clarify requirements, review deliverables, and manage dependencies.
- Mentor developers through code reviews, demonstrations, and constructive feedback.
- Ensure solutions remain proportionate, controlling complexity, infrastructure costs, and maintenance overhead.

Required Qualifications

- Proven senior-level experience delivering and maintaining production web applications.
- Strong frontend skills with modern frameworks, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Solid backend development expertise, including secure APIs, integrations, validation, and error handling.
- Practical experience integrating AI or large language model (LLM) capabilities, managing output quality, failure handling, latency, and costs.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows, with independently verified results.
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including migrations, indexing, performance tuning, backups, and recovery.
- Proficient Linux administration and Docker deployment skills.
- Working knowledge of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, firewalls, ports, and reverse proxies.
- Practical CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and familiarity with Azure DevOps repositories and pipelines.
- Strong Git workflow, pull-request, code review, and release management skills.
- Previous experience leading development teams or coordinating technical delivery.
- Demonstrated mentoring ability and clear communication of technical decisions.
- Experience working with outsourced developers, contractors, or distributed teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions within a startup budget.
- Commitment to a long-term, full-time role with increasing responsibility.
