In the role of a Sustainability Generalist, you will leverage your expertise across ESG topics and broader sustainability issues. Your responsibilities will include analyzing client needs and delivering consulting services across the sustainability lifecycle, encompassing strategy development, transformation initiatives, and sustainability reporting. This position requires practical experience in conducting climate-related risk assessments and calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with the GHG Protocol.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive climate-related risk assessments, including both transition and physical risks.
- Identify material risks and opportunities throughout the value chain of client entities.
- Evaluate the likelihood of risks under various climate scenarios and assess their potential financial and operational impacts.
- Calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accurately in accordance with the GHG Protocol standards.
- Collaborate with business teams to review data and communicate key findings clearly and effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated practical experience in climate risk assessment and GHG accounting and reporting.
- Proficiency in climate data analysis, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data techniques.
- Strong understanding of leading climate frameworks, particularly the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate scenarios.
- Competence in using climate modeling tools and technologies relevant to climate science.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and engage effectively with stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Science, or a related discipline.
