Oaktree invests globally across infrastructure, renewable power, private equity, real estate, and credit, providing essential services that underpin the global economy.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain Oaktree’s integration layer, including APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure file-based data exchanges. Develop and manage API gateways to ensure scalability, governance, throttling, and secure connectivity for both internal and external systems. Enable real-time and batch integrations across enterprise and investment platforms such as OMS, Geneva/GWI, Workday, Salesforce, and treasury/finance systems. Implement event-driven architecture using technologies like Azure EventBus/Event Hubs, Kafka, or equivalent pub/sub systems. Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage to support downstream reporting, analytics, and AI/ML applications. Embed security and compliance into all integrations, including encryption, authentication, logging, and auditability. Collaborate closely with architects, automation engineers, and business system owners to design reusable integration frameworks and patterns. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices in integration development and support.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in integration engineering, with a strong focus on API design and development, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native integration. Expertise in API design including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and microservices-based patterns is essential. Candidates must have over three years of proven hands-on experience with Workato, along with deep knowledge of API management platforms such as Azure API Management and Workato. Proficiency in event-driven architecture technologies like Azure EventBus/Event Hubs, Kafka, or RabbitMQ is required. Experience with secure file-based integrations including SFTP, managed file transfer, and batch data exchange is necessary. Strong coding and scripting skills in Python, .NET, or Java for integration services, automation, and custom connectors are expected. Advanced skills in Workato recipe design, including complex flows, conditional logic, error handling, and asynchronous queue processing, are critical. Expertise in building and managing synchronous/asynchronous API endpoints, handling authentication tokens (OAuth2, API keys, Basic Auth), and configuring custom routers is required. Experience writing custom Ruby-based connectors using the Workato Connector SDK is highly valued. A security-first mindset with knowledge of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS, encryption at rest/in transit, and zero-trust integration principles is essential. Prior experience in financial services or asset management ecosystems integrating OMS, ABOR/IBOR, risk/compliance platforms, HR/ERP, and CRM systems is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Fabric, and Azure Lakehouse is advantageous. Familiarity with agentic AI tools and workflow automation frameworks, including N8n and LangChain, is a plus. Knowledge of alternative asset management industry trends and regulatory requirements will be beneficial. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required, with advanced degrees such as an MBA or MS preferred.
