This role involves analyzing and processing credit proposals and applications for MashreqBank’s retail lending products, including Badr products, ensuring approvals or escalations are completed within the stipulated turnaround time. The position supports the smooth implementation of front-end automation solutions across all lending products, enhancing customer experience and productivity. It requires strict adherence to credit policies and product parameters, maintaining quality underwriting decisions, and ensuring proper documentation of collateral. The role also includes supervisory credit review responsibilities for RBG products, acting as a reliable backup for the team leader or assistant manager, and contributing to the development and training of new team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit applications for approval or escalation by reviewing eligibility, bank statements, past data via systems such as Flexcube, Prime, and IRIS/MWS.
- Monitor and suggest improvements to enhance team productivity and participate in projects aimed at increasing unit efficiency and refining credit policies.
- Identify exceptions related to eligibility, pricing, CPV, information capture, and collateral compliance; communicate major deficiencies and policy violations to supervisors.
- Categorize cases as declined, rejected, or requiring deviation approval when checks fail, ensuring daily productivity targets and turnaround times are met.
- Act as the first line of defense by exercising controls to ensure quality applications and flag document anomalies to the Fraud Prevention Unit.
- Participate actively in training and testing processes led by the quality unit and assist in on-the-job training for new staff, fostering team motivation.
- Identify anomalies in credit policies and product manuals, recommending necessary additions, modifications, and improvements in operational procedures and risk management.
- Collaborate daily with internal teams including Assistant Managers, Credit Investigators, Compliance, Sales, and Branch staff, and liaise with stakeholders to resolve process issues.
- Operate efficiently in a high-pressure, credit automation-driven environment, supporting the Assistant Manager with daily activities.
- Approve cases within delegated authority limits, ensuring strict compliance with procedures, and escalate cases beyond eligibility or credit score limits to Credit Supervisors.
- Review quality reports and contribute to corrective action plans to maintain error-free processing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate with more than 3 years of experience in a credit management environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex credit information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools for reporting and good overall PC skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems efficiently, and maintain a customer-focused, achievement-oriented approach.
