We are seeking a Senior CMS Developer with extensive full-stack experience in both WordPress and Shopify platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing custom themes, enhancing platform capabilities through plugins and custom applications, and optimizing client-facing websites for performance, scalability, and conversion rates. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that UX/UI designs are accurately translated into clean, standards-compliant code. Additionally, the developer will proactively maintain store health and manage third-party integrations to ensure seamless operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain custom themes and templates from the ground up for WordPress (Full Site Editing, PHP) and Shopify (Liquid, Theme App Extensions, Sections Everywhere).
- Create custom WordPress plugins and integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and headless endpoints across both platforms.
- Implement tailored checkout and cart logic, subscription workflows, and product bundle solutions using Shopify Functions and the Storefront API.
- Optimize website performance to maintain excellent Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) by employing code splitting, caching strategies, and asset optimization techniques.
- Conduct audits and resolve platform-level security issues, API rate limits, database performance bottlenecks (MySQL), and conflicts arising from third-party applications.
- Manage multi-environment CI/CD deployment pipelines, version control using Git, and coordinate staging and production rollouts with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and technical leads to convert complex Figma prototypes into performant, accessible code compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on full-stack development experience focused on WordPress and Shopify ecosystems.
- Expertise in modern PHP (version 8.x), MySQL, WordPress hooks and filters lifecycle, REST API, and custom post type architecture.
- Deep understanding of Shopify’s architecture including Liquid templating, JSON templates, Shopify CLI 3.x, Theme App Extensions, and GraphQL Admin/Storefront APIs.
- Advanced front-end skills with vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind, and build tools like Vite or Webpack.
- Proven ability to diagnose and fix Core Web Vitals performance regressions on content-rich and e-commerce websites.
- Strong knowledge of headless CMS integrations, REST/GraphQL endpoints, and secure API management.
- Experience with Git branching workflows, local development environments (Docker, LocalWP, Shopify CLI), and automated deployment pipelines.

This position is currently remote due to organizational arrangements but is intended as a full-time, on-site role. The working hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The office is located in DHA 2, Sector H, Islamabad, Pakistan. The monthly salary range for this role is Rs100,000 to Rs130,000.
