Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of computer vision and deep learning models tailored for maritime CCTV environments, managing projects from research and prototyping through to production deployment.
- Design and refine models for continuous video analysis, prioritizing accuracy, robustness, and scalability under real-world maritime conditions.
- Investigate and assess new methodologies, architectures, and technologies to enhance the AI capabilities of ShipIn’s FleetVision platform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, data science, and operations to translate operational and safety requirements into practical, reliable computer vision solutions.
- Optimize models and inference pipelines to support large-scale deployments, including those on resource-constrained edge devices.
- Keep abreast of the latest research developments and integrate state-of-the-art computer vision techniques that deliver tangible product and operational benefits.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a thesis focused on computer vision.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in computer vision and/or deep learning, demonstrating a successful track record of advancing models from proof-of-concept to production environments.
- Proven experience working with CCTV or video-based datasets.
- Expertise in deploying and optimizing models on edge devices or within resource-limited environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, capable of writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code suitable for complex, long-term projects.
- Deep knowledge of PyTorch, along with solid experience using OpenCV and other relevant computer vision libraries.
- Strong mathematical background with the ability to critically analyze and apply research papers and algorithms.
