Senior Data Engineer

Our client, a leading global beverage company with a significant presence in India through United Breweries Limited (UBL), has recently established a Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad. This center focuses on supporting global operations through technology, data engineering, analytics, and digital transformation. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on global projects and develop scalable data solutions within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions tailored to business needs.
- Build, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow and infrastructure performance.
- Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, testing, and deployment activities to maintain high-quality standards.
- Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines while driving the selection of development approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Scrum Masters to align on project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Engage in technical discussions with various teams and departments to foster innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- 5 to 12+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Azure cloud data services and technologies, including Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Delta Live Tables.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL for data processing and analytics.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps for data integration and continuous delivery.
- Skilled in logging and monitoring using Azure and Databricks services to ensure system reliability.
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, architecture, and ETL pipeline design.
- Proven ability to implement software development principles, coding standards, and modern architectural patterns.
- Experience working on diverse projects involving various technologies, products, and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical technical decisions.
- Capability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills.
- Pragmatic and collaborative team player with a focus on delivering business value.

Other Details

This position reports directly to the Engineering Lead. The role is based onsite and targets professionals with experience in FMCG, beverage, manufacturing, or product-based industries.
