Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and enterprise data integration to join our Finance Data Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and related technologies, capable of managing complex batch and real-time data pipelines. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, high-quality data solutions that support business intelligence and governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex ETL/ELT workflows, batch and real-time data pipelines, and enterprise data integration projects using IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, Cognos, and other relevant tools. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including Data Modelers, Architects, BI teams, and Governance groups, to deliver agile, scalable, and governed data solutions that meet business requirements. Establish and enforce data quality controls, validation frameworks, source-to-target reconciliation processes, balancing checks, and exception handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity. Implement automated monitoring and validation systems to continuously track data quality and integrity across critical data pipelines. Manage complex transformations, CDC/incremental processing, API and file-based integrations, streaming data, distributed processing, and data migration efforts. Drive initiatives related to data profiling, cleansing, reconciliation, and control checks while maintaining comprehensive documentation of data lineage and governance practices.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute or university. At least 7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, and enterprise integration projects. Demonstrated expertise with IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and strong proficiency in SQL. Proven experience in handling batch and real-time data pipelines, complex data transformations, CDC/incremental data processing, API and file integration, streaming, and distributed processing environments. Solid understanding of data quality management, profiling, validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and control checks. Familiarity with data lineage, data governance frameworks, CDC mechanisms, APIs, streaming technologies, and lakehouse architectures.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Candidates with additional qualifications or certifications in Islamic Finance will be considered an advantage, enhancing their understanding of finance-specific data requirements.
