We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team within the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data integration, with a strong focus on IBM DataStage, DB2W, and Big SQL technologies. This role requires a hands-on professional capable of designing and implementing complex batch and real-time data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and governed data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex ETL/ELT workflows, batch and real-time data pipelines, and enterprise data integration projects using DB2W, Big SQL, DataStage, Cognos, and related technologies.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including Data Modelers, Architects, Business Intelligence, and Governance teams, to develop scalable, agile, and high-performance data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Establish and enforce data quality controls, validation frameworks, source-to-target reconciliation processes, balancing checks, and exception handling mechanisms to maintain data integrity.
- Implement automated monitoring systems to ensure ongoing data integrity and quality across critical data pipelines.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute or university.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and enterprise integration.
- Proven hands-on expertise with IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and related batch and real-time data processing technologies.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and complex data transformations.
- Experience with data quality management, including profiling, validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and control checks.
- Knowledge of data lineage, governance frameworks, Change Data Capture (CDC), APIs, streaming data, distributed processing, and modern lakehouse architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional qualifications or certifications in Islamic Finance will be considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate’s ability to contribute to finance-specific data projects.
