We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team within the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and enterprise integration. This role involves working with advanced technologies such as IBM DataStage, DB2W, and Big SQL to design and implement scalable, high-performance data solutions that support both batch and real-time data processing. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Data Modelers, Architects, BI, and Governance teams, to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across critical financial data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of complex ETL/ELT workflows, batch and real-time data integration projects using IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, Cognos, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Modelers, Architects, Business Intelligence, and Governance to develop scalable, agile, and governed data solutions.
- Establish and maintain data quality controls, validation frameworks, source-to-target reconciliation processes, balancing checks, and exception handling mechanisms.
- Implement automated monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and reliability across critical data pipelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute or university.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, and enterprise integration.
- Hands-on expertise with IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, batch and real-time pipelines, complex data transformations, CDC/incremental processing, API/file integration, streaming, distributed processing, and migration projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT tools, with deep knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and integration techniques.
- Experience in data quality management including profiling, validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and control checks.
- Familiarity with data lineage, governance frameworks, change data capture (CDC), APIs, streaming technologies, distributed processing, and lakehouse architectures.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Qualification or certification in Islamic Finance will be considered an added advantage, enhancing understanding of domain-specific data requirements.
