We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Audit Officer to evaluate and enhance the efficiency of risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance within Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting audits across various branches, ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies, and safeguarding company assets through effective control measures. This role requires frequent travel to rural areas and a commitment to maintaining high standards of honesty and dedication.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and assess the activities of MFIs to improve the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls.
- Organize and conduct audits at branch locations to evaluate operational and financial processes.
- Evaluate the reliability, adequacy, and effectiveness of accounting, operating, and administrative controls.
- Ensure that branches maintain accurate and timely transaction records and properly safeguard assets.
- Verify compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies at branch levels.
- Prepare and communicate audit findings and reports to senior management.
- Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCOM), Master’s degree in Commerce (MCOM), or MBA with a specialization in Finance.
- Strong analytical skills to assess borrower eligibility and financial data.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
