Senior Full Stack Developer (Remote, Contractual) [HR214] PK

Smart Working is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer with over 8 years of experience in software development, specializing in scalable web applications and cloud-native solutions. This role focuses primarily on maintaining and enhancing a live Studio product, with approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend responsibilities. The ideal candidate will work extensively with Node.js, NestJS, Angular, Docker, and Google Cloud Run, contributing to both new feature delivery and incremental improvements in backend APIs. You will join an established engineering team, following proven development patterns and deployment processes, while supporting a customer-facing production platform in a remote-first, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve a live production platform used by customers.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
- Contribute to frontend development with Angular as needed.
- Build and enhance REST APIs, ensuring thorough documentation with Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Support production systems hosted on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on reliability and availability.
- Manage production deployments through CI/CD pipelines and established release processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents by investigating root causes and implementing fixes.
- Work with Docker containerized applications and cloud-hosted services.
- Collaborate through code reviews and adhere to existing engineering standards and deployment patterns.
- Independently design, document, and deliver technical solutions.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience with Node.js and/or NestJS.
- At least 3 years of experience with Angular.
- 1.5+ years of experience working with React.
- 4+ years designing and developing REST APIs.
- 3+ years of experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- 2+ years of hands-on DevOps experience supporting live production environments, including CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution.
- 2+ years managing customer-facing production workloads on Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL.
- Experience working with automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Proven ability to produce and maintain Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
- Experience working within microservices-based architectures.
- Ability to independently design technical solutions and APIs.
- Strong collaboration skills while working independently within an established engineering team.
- At least 1 year of experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude, MCP, or LLM APIs.
