Umer & Company (Umerco), an official IBM Business Partner specializing in B2B and A2A integrations, is seeking a Senior IT Administrator to join its Lahore office located in Valencia Town. This role operates during U.S. business hours, with working hours from 6 PM to 3 AM, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and strategic growth aligned with company goals. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure internet stability by managing multiple ISPs with automatic failover, alerting systems, and evidence-based escalation procedures.
- Oversee power and backup systems, including inverters, UPS, generators, and stabilizers, ensuring they are appropriately sized to the actual load and regularly tested.
- Manage physical and virtual infrastructure, including racks, cabling, endpoints, servers, hypervisors, virtual machines, storage solutions, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships by writing detailed RFPs, comparing total costs, and enforcing service level agreements.
- Create and maintain a strategic, costed two- to three-year IT plan prioritizing expenditures based on protection and business enablement.
- Maintain security and system upkeep through scheduled patching, access reviews, tested restore procedures, surveillance, and access control.
- Lead and mentor support staff, manage projects to meet scope, budget, and deadlines, and proactively communicate any risks or delays to management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT or system administration, including at least 2 years in a leadership role responsible for managing an IT environment or function.
- Practical experience with inverter, UPS, and generator-backed power systems, including load and runtime calculations.
- Strong networking skills with hands-on experience in Cisco, MikroTik, UniFi, or Huawei equipment, covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN, firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
- Proficiency in server and virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox, alongside Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and Active Directory administration.
- Proven ability to manage RFP processes, vendor relationships, and deliver projects within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of guiding junior staff and communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Educational background including DAE (CIT), BSIT, BSCS, or related fields.
