We are looking for a skilled LogicMonitor Engineer to lead enterprise monitoring transformation projects, focusing primarily on migrating from SolarWinds to LogicMonitor. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with LogicMonitor administration, including collector deployment, infrastructure onboarding, alert and dashboard configuration, ITSM integrations, and managing production cutovers. This role requires expertise across diverse environments such as Windows, Linux, AIX, network devices, storage, and virtualized platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the current SolarWinds environment (NPM, SAM, SRM, VMAN) and map existing monitoring configurations to LogicMonitor.
- Plan and execute the migration strategy, covering collector architecture, deployment, high availability, failover, and infrastructure onboarding.
- Deploy and configure LogicMonitor Collectors, device groups, DataSources, LogicModules, dashboards, alert rules, thresholds, and notification policies.
- Configure infrastructure discovery and perform bulk device onboarding using CSV files and REST APIs.
- Implement monitoring solutions for Windows, Linux, AIX servers, VMware, Hyper-V, network devices, storage systems, and enterprise applications.
- Utilize SNMP v2/v3, WMI, SSH, WinRM, and REST APIs to configure monitoring.
- Migrate and validate SolarWinds monitoring templates, alert rules, escalation workflows, and reporting features.
- Develop operational and executive dashboards to track infrastructure health, availability, performance, and capacity.
- Integrate LogicMonitor with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms to automate incident creation, alert routing, and escalation.
- Conduct proof-of-concept activities, parallel monitoring, user acceptance testing, production cutover, and go-live validation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to collectors, connectivity, credentials, discovery, and monitoring configurations.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, as-built configurations, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and operations teams to ensure a seamless migration and smooth production handover.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on LogicMonitor expertise preferred.
- Proven experience implementing, configuring, and administering LogicMonitor in enterprise environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of LogicMonitor Collectors, Collector Groups, high availability, failover, DataSources, LogicModules, alerting, dashboards, and reporting.
- Familiarity with the SolarWinds Orion Platform, especially NPM, SAM, SRM, and VMAN.
- Experience in migrating or implementing enterprise infrastructure monitoring solutions, ideally from SolarWinds to LogicMonitor.
- Solid understanding of SNMP, WMI, SSH, WinRM, REST APIs, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and network connectivity.
- Hands-on experience monitoring Windows/Linux servers, AIX, VMware, Hyper-V, network infrastructure, storage platforms, and application components.
- Skilled in configuring monitoring thresholds, alert escalation policies, notification workflows, and operational dashboards.
- Experience integrating monitoring platforms with ServiceNow or similar ITSM solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- LogicMonitor certification or vendor training is highly desirable.
- Experience with REST API automation, PowerShell, Python scripting, NetFlow, syslog, network configuration monitoring, and enterprise observability projects.
- Prior experience supporting US-based enterprise customers and managing large-scale monitoring transformations is an advantage.
This role offers the opportunity to lead critical monitoring modernization initiatives within complex enterprise environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient monitoring solutions.
