The Senior Manager Costing & Supply Chain will play a pivotal role in leading the costing function, inventory valuation, and supply chain financial analysis. This position ensures accurate product costing, effective inventory management, and cost optimization across the organization. The incumbent will provide strategic insights on cost variances, inventory movements, procurement efficiencies, and business feasibility to senior leadership, while ensuring compliance with financial and supply chain policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all cost accounting activities including model-wise costing, absorption rates, production overheads, landed costs, and variance analysis to ensure precise and timely product costing.
- Analyze variances related to production, materials, overheads, rejections, and landed costs to identify inefficiencies and cost drivers, providing actionable insights to the CFO and senior management.
- Oversee accurate inventory valuation, revaluation, ageing provisions, inventory adjustments, weighted average costing, and timely closure of production orders to maintain financial integrity of inventory balances.
- Review supply chain and procurement costs and transactions, ensuring compliance with approved processes, delegation of authority (DOA), and financial controls, while identifying opportunities for cost efficiency improvements.
- Evaluate the financial impact of Bill of Materials (BOM) changes, parts cost fluctuations, new projects, and other business initiatives, delivering robust costing analysis and early-warning insights to support decision-making.
- Conduct analytical reviews to uncover savings opportunities across materials, consumables, production overheads, idle capacity, inventory, and other direct costs, assisting management in implementing cost-saving measures.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end costing and reporting, maintain strong controls over related balance sheet accounts, monitor policy compliance, and escalate significant risks or deviations to senior management.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from a recognized professional accounting body.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Articleship experience with a Big Four audit firm.
