Senior Manager Remittance Operations

The Senior Manager Remittance Operations will be responsible for overseeing the complete cycle of inward and outward remittance processes within the organization. This role ensures that all remittance transactions are processed accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The position demands a focus on operational efficiency, risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and service excellence. The incumbent will lead settlement activities, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and drive continuous improvements to support business growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end remittance operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and secure processing of transactions.
- Ensure strict compliance with AML/CFT regulations, KYC requirements, sanctions screening, and internal policies.
- Oversee transaction verification, settlements, reconciliations, investigations, refunds, and exception handling.
- Monitor transaction volumes, service level agreements (SLAs), turnaround times (TATs), settlement accounts, and liquidity to maintain smooth operations.
- Implement and maintain robust operational controls to prevent fraud, minimize processing errors, and reduce financial and operational risks.
- Manage relationships with remittance partners, correspondent banks, agents, and service providers, resolving escalations effectively.
- Lead initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and digitization to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Prepare and present operational reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring timely submission of management and regulatory reports.
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, risk management activities, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Remittance Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- 8 to 10 years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Remittance Operations, with hands-on exposure to both inward and outward remittances.
- At least 4 to 5 years in a managerial capacity, leading remittance operations, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, operational risk management, stakeholder engagement, and driving process improvements.
- Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications in Banking or Financial Services.

- Strong expertise in settlement, reconciliation, and transaction processing.
- Comprehensive understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

- Skilled in management information system (MIS) reporting, data analysis, and performance monitoring.

- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
