The candidate will ensure the health, performance, and availability of APIs by proactively monitoring the system and addressing any issues that arise. They will participate in incident resolution, leading calls when necessary to assist with root cause analysis and problem-solving. The position requires analyzing system logs to identify and resolve problems within the IBM API Connect environment.

Key responsibilities include configuring and implementing backup and restoration processes for IBM API Connect subsystems, as well as managing the backup and restoration of configuration data. Maintaining the CI/CD pipeline for building and deploying APIs is essential, alongside managing the API lifecycle through the API Management Portal across multiple API catalogs. The role also involves consumer maintenance tasks such as creating users, groups, roles, and managing security configurations.

The candidate will be responsible for making changes to the IBM API Connect Developer Portal, including adjustments to portal configuration, Drupal themes, and content updates to improve look and feel. They will enable third-party tools like Elastic to capture analytics events for customer dashboards and demonstrate expertise in the Splunk data platform by constructing advanced search queries, monitoring, and setting up alerts for failures.

Security configuration is a critical aspect of this role, requiring the setup of TLS profiles and native OAuth2 mechanisms to maintain a secure operating environment. The candidate will apply product maintenance patches, interim releases, and upgrades as needed to keep the system up to date. Additionally, they will provide technical architecture information, support discovery sessions, assist architects or team leads, and respond to questions related to architecture, infrastructure, and security.

A solid understanding of hardware specifications, networking requirements, and storage sizing for IBM API Connect is necessary. The role also involves interaction with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales teams to verify, discuss, and resolve any issues or questions that arise.
