Senior Network Engineer

Cipher Guardian is expanding its Network and Security Engineering capabilities and is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join its Upwork agency. This role involves project-based client engagements, offering the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging assignments within enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and be an active freelancer on Upwork, ready to collaborate on client projects as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on network engineering support, including routing, switching, and troubleshooting within enterprise and production network environments.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with project requirements.
- Document technical processes and network configurations clearly and effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network technologies and security best practices to support client needs.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in network engineering.
- CCNP certification is preferred; however, CCNA-certified engineers with strong enterprise experience will also be considered.
- Active Upwork freelancer profile is mandatory for this role.
- Proven expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Experience supporting enterprise or production network environments.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with Fortinet, Check Point, Ubiquiti, MikroTik, SD-WAN, Azure/AWS networking, or Zero Trust architectures is advantageous.
- This position is not a fixed full-time role at this stage; selected engineers will join the Upwork agency and engage in client projects as opportunities become available.
