Senior Odoo Developer / Technical Lead

Amnis is seeking a seasoned Senior Odoo Developer / Technical Lead to join and lead a Pakistan-based Odoo development team. This team is engaged in an ERP implementation project for a German food retail client. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a project lead based in Germany during the implementation phase, taking ownership of custom Odoo development, technical architecture, integrations, code quality, and development standards. After implementation, the team will manage day-to-day operations and ongoing development of the Odoo environment. This role offers a long-term opportunity with potential involvement in additional international Odoo projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom Odoo modules and extensions.
- Take technical ownership of Odoo development within the Pakistan team.
- Review code and uphold development and testing standards.
- Collaborate with the German project lead to translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Develop solutions focused on Accounting, Inventory, and Purchase workflows.
- Implement and support inventory processes including lots, expiry/best-before dates, and FEFO (First Expired, First Out).
- Manage Odoo upgrades and migration of custom modules.
- Work with Odoo.sh environments including development, staging, and production.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems.
- Diagnose and optimize Odoo performance issues.
- Write and maintain automated tests.
- Support testing, go-live, and post-implementation operations.
- Mentor other developers and contribute to technical decision-making.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional Odoo development experience.
- Strong recent experience with Odoo 17 or newer, Enterprise Edition.
- Proficient in Python and Odoo ORM development.
- Proven experience developing production-grade custom Odoo modules.
- Solid expertise in Inventory, Purchase, and/or Accounting modules.
- Practical knowledge of lots, expiry dates, and FEFO inventory processes.
- Experience completing at least two Odoo version upgrades or migrations.
- Strong working knowledge of Odoo.sh platform.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize production Odoo applications.
- Deep understanding of access rights, record rules, and multi-company environments.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with international stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ownership, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in food retail, FMCG, warehousing, or supply chain systems.
- Knowledge of EDI or B2B integrations.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and external system integrations.
- Understanding of German accounting and localization processes.
- Experience leading or mentoring an Odoo development team.
- Current Odoo certification or willingness to obtain certification by January 2027.

Additional Information
The role requires availability during core collaboration hours from 09:00 to 16:00 German time (approximately 13:00 to 20:00 PKT during winter). Candidates must also be willing to participate in a limited on-call rota during the February–March 2027 go-live period, including occasional Saturdays.

This project involves strict data security protocols. The successful candidate must be comfortable working exclusively with anonymized project data, signing an NDA, using multi-factor authentication and company-managed accounts, following secure development practices, working on encrypted devices, and maintaining strict confidentiality. Production client data will not be accessible from Pakistan.
