We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer with extensive expertise in developing detailed 3D piping models for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or EPC/EPCC projects. The ideal candidate will have strong practical knowledge of AVEVA E3D and PDMS software and a proven track record in refinery and process plant piping layouts. This role requires close coordination with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure accurate and efficient piping design that meets project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D or PDMS software. Route piping systems based on P&IDs, plot plans, equipment layouts, and piping specifications. Create accurate models of pipes, valves, fittings, equipment connections, and piping supports while ensuring proper access, operation, maintenance space, and ease of construction.
Prepare and extract piping general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, isometric drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs) directly from the 3D model. Verify equipment nozzle orientations and piping connections to maintain design integrity. Collaborate closely with Piping Stress, Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
Participate actively in 3D model reviews to identify clashes and resolve design issues promptly. Incorporate stress analysis requirements, support locations, and flexibility considerations into piping layouts. Review vendor drawings and integrate package equipment into the plant model as required. Update models and drawings based on engineering feedback and project changes, maintaining high model quality and compliance with project specifications and applicable piping standards.
Required Qualifications
A Diploma or DAE in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of hands-on piping design experience within Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or EPC/EPCC environments. Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D and PDMS software is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience in refinery and process plant piping layouts, including 3D modeling and coordination with various engineering disciplines, is required. The candidate must be familiar with interpreting and applying P&IDs, plot plans, and equipment layouts to develop accurate piping models.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in AVEVA E3D and PDMS for piping 3D modeling and routing
- In-depth understanding of P&IDs, plot plans, and equipment and piping layouts
- Ability to prepare piping isometric and general arrangement drawings
- Knowledge of pipe supports, stress coordination, and flexibility requirements
- Experience in conducting model reviews and clash detection
- Proficiency in MTO extraction and adherence to ASME B31.3 piping codes
- Strong background in refinery and petrochemical plant design principles
Compensation and Work Location
The monthly salary range for this position is Rs 200,000 to Rs 300,000. The role requires on-site presence at the designated work location.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned piping designer looking to contribute to complex projects while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic engineering environment.
