Senior Power BI Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI / Business Intelligence Developer with 7 to 8+ years of experience to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise BI and analytics solutions. This role demands deep hands-on expertise in Power BI, combined with a strong understanding of data architecture, business requirements, and the full BI lifecycle. The ideal candidate will take ownership of solutions from start to finish, collaborate closely with stakeholders, address complex data and performance challenges, and mentor other BI professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and support of Power BI and enterprise BI solutions.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting needs, analytical use cases, and scalable solution designs.
- Develop advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, time intelligence functions, drill-throughs, tooltips, bookmarks, and interactive analytics.
- Design and implement dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas, relationships, hierarchies, reusable measures, and business logic.
- Utilize SQL and Power Query/M for complex data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and preparation.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and Architects on ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, lakes/lakehouses, APIs, and cloud data platforms.
- Manage Power BI Service environments, including workspaces, semantic models, dataflows, gateways, refresh schedules, deployment pipelines, and production releases.
- Implement and maintain security and governance practices such as Row-Level Security (RLS), access controls, documentation, and BI standards.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance issues across DAX, queries, data models, refresh processes, and source systems.
- Review BI solutions for quality, scalability, usability, and maintainability; establish development standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level BI developers and provide technical guidance across BI initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- 7 to 8+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, BI Development, Data Analytics, or related fields, with significant Power BI expertise.
- Advanced hands-on skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query/M, and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, semantic models, and BI architecture.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using multiple data sources.
- Deep understanding of Power BI Service, including deployment, security, refresh, governance, and production support.
- Ability to independently lead technical delivery while effectively communicating with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with a Data Engineering background who have developed strong Power BI and analytics skills are highly encouraged to apply. Experience with ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehousing, data quality, and modern cloud data platforms is a significant advantage. Relevant technologies include Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and Microsoft Fabric. Familiarity with Python/PySpark, API-based data integration, CI/CD, source control, and data governance is also valued.

Additional desirable qualifications include PL-300 or equivalent Power BI certification, experience with Power BI Premium, Microsoft Fabric, deployment pipelines, paginated reports, and enterprise-scale BI implementations. Exposure to AI/ML, advanced analytics, or data-intensive industries such as Energy, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Utilities, or Financial Services is a plus.

We seek a senior professional who understands the entire data journey—from source and ingestion through transformation, data modeling, semantic layers, BI, and insights. The ability to diagnose whether a business reporting challenge stems from visualization, modeling, data quality, pipelines, or architecture and to lead the appropriate solution is essential.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Pakistan or remote. Candidates will be asked about their experience with SQL (including joins, CTEs, window functions, and query tuning), years in Business Intelligence/Data Analytics, and proficiency in writing complex DAX measures such as time intelligence and CALCULATE functions.
