Senior Product Designer

PsychPlus is seeking a Senior Product Designer to enhance and innovate our healthcare products, including electronic health records (EHR), patient-facing applications, and operational tools. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, clinical stakeholders, and fellow designers to transform complex healthcare requirements into intuitive and practical user experiences. A deep expertise in design systems is crucial, as PsychPlus manages multiple products with intricate workflows, requiring reusable design patterns that ensure consistency across the entire product ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Design comprehensive end-to-end experiences across PsychPlus products, covering EHR, patient interactions, scheduling, clinical, and operational workflows.
- Translate complex healthcare and business needs into clear user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready user interfaces.
- Partner with clinicians and Product Managers to thoroughly understand user challenges before developing solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams throughout the design and implementation stages.
- Utilize and contribute to the PsychPlus Figma Design System when creating new features.
- Develop scalable components, including variants, states, and interaction patterns, avoiding one-off solutions.
- Ensure alignment and consistency between Figma components and Engineering’s React component library.
- Make informed decisions about reusing existing components, extending patterns, or proposing new components.
- Design and document all relevant component states such as loading, empty, error, disabled, hover, focus, success, and permission-based states.
- Consider the impact of component changes on other PsychPlus products and workflows.
- Create responsive designs optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Apply WCAG accessibility principles to all designs and reusable components.
- Maintain clear design documentation and source-of-truth user flows for Product and Engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Review implemented features and collaborate with Engineering to address any discrepancies between design and production.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Design or UX/UI Design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex product and workflow design.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, properties, variables, libraries, and prototyping.
- Solid understanding of design systems and component-driven design methodologies.
- Experience working with or contributing to mature design systems.
- Knowledge of how design systems translate into front-end component libraries such as React.
- Strong foundation in UX principles, including user flows, information architecture, interaction design, usability, and responsive behavior.
- Proven experience designing complex forms, tables, dashboards, workflows, and information-dense interfaces.
- Deep understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
- Ability to anticipate edge cases and accommodate different user roles, permissions, states, and scenarios.
- Comfortable working closely with Product Managers and Engineers within an Agile environment.
- Skilled at explaining and defending design decisions based on user needs, product context, evidence, and technical constraints.
