Huawei is seeking a seasoned Senior PS Core Planning Engineer to join their team in Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PS core network planning, capacity analysis, network design, optimization, and project support integration. This role demands a strong technical background and the ability to manage complex network environments while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable network performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor network utilization, analyze growth trends, perform traffic forecasting, and conduct capacity analysis across PS core network elements to maintain optimal performance.
- Develop and interpret end-to-end High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for PS core products such as SGSN, MME, SGW/PGW, and PCRF/UPF.
- Recommend and implement network optimization initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and enhancing service quality.
- Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, budget forecasting, Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and technical tender evaluations.
- Coordinate with telecom vendors, contractors, and internal teams to assess and validate technical solutions.
- Support project integration activities including commissioning, implementation, acceptance of new nodes, and ensuring network safety compliance.
- Analyze daily and weekly health check reports, monitor degraded KPIs, and manage alarms within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), lead Major Incident Reviews (MIR), maintain Known Error Database (KEDB) documentation, and contribute to team capability development.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the core network domain, with a particular focus on the PS (Packet-Switched) domain.
- Solid understanding of basic communication principles and data communication technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of EPC (Evolved Packet Core), 5GC (5G Core), UPCC, NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) architecture, and telecom cloud solutions.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills combined with the ability to analyze customer requirements and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical customers, discuss solutions, project plans, and progress updates.
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and make accurate decisions during crisis situations.
