Senior Research Assistant, COE

The Aga Khan University (AKU), a renowned private international institution committed to excellence in teaching, research, and healthcare service, is seeking a Senior Research Assistant for its Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health based in Karachi. This grant-funded contractual role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research projects within a diverse and inclusive environment. The Senior Research Assistant will work closely with the Research Specialist and Research Manager to support the successful execution of research objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual interviews and prepare detailed notes from interviews and observation visits.
- Facilitate meetings among the research team and junior research staff to ensure smooth coordination.
- Visit households within the community to oversee and ensure the quality and completion of data collection activities.
- Coordinate with administrative staff for logistical arrangements related to the project.
- Raise awareness within the wider community in alignment with project guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor to support project goals.
- Conduct data collection visits at AKU Kharadar Secondary Care Hospital.
- Communicate efficiently with enrolled patients via digital platforms to collect required information remotely.

Required Qualifications:
- Intermediate education with a Diploma in a relevant field such as Lady Health Visitor (LHV) or Midwifery.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work effectively within diverse communities.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Excellent teamwork abilities and good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilience and capacity to handle work-related pressure.
- Willingness to work in community settings.
- Proficient in using handheld devices for data collection.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduation in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a related field is advantageous.
