We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Engineer to join our team, specializing in Brownfield oil and gas Safety & Risk Design and Engineering. The ideal candidate will bring over 12 years of relevant industry experience, including a strong background in multi-disciplinary projects and offshore operations. Experience working in the Middle East is considered an advantage. This role involves working closely with project teams to ensure safety and risk standards are met throughout the project lifecycle, supporting both technical and operational safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Assist in standardizing equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contribute to the interpretation and application of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer standards.
- Apply local and global standards to maintain technical excellence.
- Participate in checking processes, peer reviews, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Ensure recognized onshore and offshore engineering practices related to safety and risk design are followed.
- Develop design and operational engineering studies focused on risk and safety.
- Design Safety & Risk scopes of work within contracts and manage design alternative studies to optimize project cost and schedule.
- Gather and compile safety and environmental data for project use.
- Prepare and assist in executing hazard studies such as HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, and LOPA.
- Support HSE checklists, design basis documentation, and design HSE reviews including Human Factors, Hazardous Area Classification, Inherent Safety, and Alarm Prioritization.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in Safety & Risk Engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on Brownfield projects and offshore environments.
- Proven experience working as a Safety and Risk Engineer (Technical Safety/Loss Prevention) in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with industry software tools such as PIPENET, PHAST, SAFETI, PHA Pro, and Flaresim. Familiarity with Detect3D and exSILentia is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Active Fire Protection systems, including firewater demand, hydraulic analysis, P&IDs, and PFDs.
- Experience with Fire & Gas layouts, Control/Electrical diagrams, Passive Fire Protection, datasheets, specifications, and Material Take-Off (MTO).
- Expertise in Hazardous Area Classification, including schedules and drawings.
- Solid understanding of NFPA and international standards related to Technical Safety and Loss Prevention.
- Competence in consequence analysis covering gas dispersion, toxic releases, fires, explosions, vent dispersion, and flare radiation modeling.
- Familiarity with Safety Critical Elements, Performance Standards, Risk Registers, and action follow-up processes.
- Experience conducting ALARP assessments, Bow-ties, Cost-Benefit analyses, and Surge Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) status, or actively pursuing these accreditations, is highly desirable.
