Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack Java & React

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Full Stack Java and React to join our modernization team based near Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore. This full-time, on-site role involves working on a large-scale Hospital Management System that has been evolving for over 20 years. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transitioning legacy components into a modern, scalable, maintainable, and secure architecture. Strong experience in enterprise Java development, React-based frontend technologies, Oracle databases, and API-driven systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and modern web technologies. Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces with React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. Develop backend services, REST APIs, and business components using Java and the Spring Framework. Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code adhering to architectural standards and best practices. Participate in code reviews to enhance overall code quality.

Legacy Application Modernization: Analyze existing legacy code and contribute to migration and refactoring efforts. Transform legacy UI components into modern React-based interfaces. Support browser modernization by removing obsolete dependencies. Upgrade outdated libraries and frameworks while ensuring backward compatibility. Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements.

Database Development & Integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database components using Oracle Database and PL/SQL. Design and consume RESTful APIs, integrating with internal and external systems. Assist in performance tuning of both application and database components.

Quality Engineering & DevOps Practices: Write unit tests and engage in integration and automated testing. Utilize Git workflows including branching, pull requests, and peer reviews. Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities. Follow secure coding standards and software development best practices.

AI-Assisted Software Development: Leverage modern AI tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and test creation. Apply AI-assisted development responsibly, ensuring code quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with project standards.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, QA engineers, Business Analysts, and fellow developers. Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, estimations, and agile development processes. Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge within the team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on full-stack development with Java and React. Strong expertise in:

- Java 11/17 and object-oriented programming principles
- Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data
- React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI development
- RESTful API development and integration
- Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Git, code review processes, and collaborative workflows
- Unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and frontend testing tools
- Build tools like Maven or Gradle
- Debugging, profiling, and performance optimization techniques

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience working on large-scale enterprise applications with complex business workflows. Proven background in modernizing legacy Java applications. Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud. Experience with healthcare applications, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), or healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR is a plus. Practical experience using AI-powered development tools such as Fable, Opus, GPT, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT is highly desirable.

They should be comfortable navigating legacy codebases, building modern React interfaces, developing robust Java services, optimizing Oracle database interactions, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining enterprise-grade quality.
