Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack Java & React

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in full-stack development using Java and React to join our modernization team based near Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore. This full-time, on-site role involves working on a large-scale Hospital Management System that has been evolving for over 20 years. The successful candidate will help transition legacy components into a modern, scalable, maintainable, and secure architecture by applying deep knowledge of enterprise Java applications, React-based frontend development, Oracle databases, and API-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and modern web technologies. Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces with React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. Develop backend services, REST APIs, and business components using Java and the Spring Framework. Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following architectural standards. Participate actively in code reviews to enhance code quality.

Legacy Application Modernization: Analyze existing legacy code to support migration and refactoring efforts. Convert legacy UI components into modern React-based interfaces. Facilitate browser modernization by removing obsolete dependencies. Upgrade outdated libraries and frameworks while ensuring backward compatibility. Identify technical debt and recommend practical improvements to enhance system performance and maintainability.

Database Development & Integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database components using Oracle Database and PL/SQL. Design and consume RESTful APIs for integration with internal and external systems. Assist in performance tuning of both application and database layers.

Quality Engineering & DevOps Practices: Write unit tests and contribute to integration and automated testing efforts. Use Git-based workflows including branching strategies, pull requests, and peer reviews. Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities. Adhere to secure coding standards and software development best practices.

AI-Assisted Software Development: Utilize modern AI development tools effectively for code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and test creation. Apply AI-assisted techniques responsibly to ensure code quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with project standards.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, QA engineers, Business Analysts, and fellow developers. Engage in sprint planning, technical discussions, estimations, and agile development processes. Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge to foster team growth.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- Over 6 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on full-stack development with Java and React.
- Strong expertise in Java 11/17, object-oriented programming, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).
- Proficient in React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI development.
- Experience in RESTful API development and integration.
- Solid skills in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and frontend testing tools.
- Knowledge of build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Competence in debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
