Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack, you will be part of a small, focused development team responsible for specific themes and initiatives within Matillion’s product suite. Your role will involve writing, testing, and releasing new features, as well as fixing issues in production services and applications. You will collaborate closely with your team to deliver work aligned with team goals, manage your workflow from coding through to production release, and provide ongoing maintenance and support. Participation in code reviews and involvement in research projects exploring new technologies and future opportunities will be expected. You will also have the chance to develop both technical and interpersonal skills through self-training, mentoring, and collaboration. By gaining a deep understanding of the team’s domain and architecture, you will contribute to risk management, decision-making, and continuous improvement of development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java and React, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles, programming concepts, and best practices including code style, testability, efficiency, observability, scalability, and security.
- Experience developing Java Spring microservices and working with container technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including design, deployment, and CI/CD tooling, within agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, with a strong preference for AWS.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems and adapt to varying technical challenges.
- Good understanding of testing methodologies including PACT, integration, and end-to-end testing, with familiarity in Cypress.
