We are looking for a skilled Agent Engineer to design, develop, and maintain production-grade agent solutions using Python, leveraging OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, and LangFuse. This role involves delivering features for multi-tenant services with strong tenant isolation, scalability, and secure-by-default practices. The ideal candidate will write high-quality code, implement rigorous automated testing including mutation testing, collaborate closely with DevOps, participate actively in Agile processes, and contribute to incident response and operational excellence within a dynamic AI-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain production agent components in Python, adhering to clean code principles and team standards using OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, and LangFuse.
- Deliver features for multi-tenant services ensuring tenant isolation, baseline scalability, and secure defaults.
- Create clear, testable user stories and break down work into subtasks with measurable acceptance criteria.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests and automation; actively engage in mutation testing cycles and address gaps with guidance from senior engineers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, consistently delivering committed sprint goals while identifying risks early.
- Collaborate with DevOps to maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines by automating deployments, adding test stages, and troubleshooting build or test failures.
- Support incident response and post-mortem activities by providing technical analysis, implementing remediation, and documenting lessons learned.
- Apply information security and data privacy best practices throughout design, implementation, and code reviews.
- Enhance observability by adding meaningful metrics, logs, and traces to improve debugging and operational visibility.
- Stay current with agent development patterns, testing methodologies, and observability tools, proposing practical improvements to the team.
- Provide constructive code review feedback and incorporate suggestions to improve code quality and consistency.
- Develop and maintain onboarding documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate new team members and reduce operational friction.
- Identify and implement small refactors and performance improvements; escalate larger architectural changes for prioritization.
- Maintain CI/CD health by fixing broken builds, automating linting and tests, and improving pipeline reliability.
- Participate in technical interviews and candidate evaluations as needed.
- Assist with benchmarking and profiling tasks and implement remediation under supervision.
- Align work with the team vision and communicate any impediments that could block delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech) or MCA with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, and LangFuse in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, and Context Engineering.
- Experience with benchmarking evaluation sets and writing evaluators.
- Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration patterns such as Worker (Supervisor) and Concurrent (Fan-Out/Fan-In).
- Skills in Skill Writing and MCP implementation.
- Understanding of agent security and responsible AI principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Knowledge of retail planning products and domain-specific applications.
- Experience with DevOps practices, especially deploying agents with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments.
