Overman Studios is seeking a Senior Video Editor based in Karachi, Pakistan, to join on an initial 4–6-week contract with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements and mutual fit. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret creative briefs, understand storytelling objectives, and deliver polished films focused on architecture, interiors, and brand narratives with minimal supervision. Immediate availability is preferred for this editing-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform briefs, reference materials, raw footage, and interviews into clear, engaging films that effectively communicate the intended story.
- Edit architecture and interiors films with a keen sense of spatial awareness, composition, rhythm, and attention to detail.
- Craft interview-led brand stories by selecting impactful dialogue and complementing it with purposeful visuals.
- Manage pacing, music selection, dialogue cleanup, sound design, consistent color grading, and restrained title design.
- Deliver review cuts promptly, incorporate written feedback accurately, and produce social media cutdowns and alternate formats as needed.
- Maintain organized project files, including footage, audio, graphics, and versions, ensuring clean handover of editable projects.
- Confirm briefs and feedback in a timely manner, proactively flag any blockers, and provide realistic delivery estimates.
Required Qualifications
- A strong portfolio showcasing completed architecture, interiors, or premium branded films that demonstrate excellent editorial judgment.
- Ability to independently understand the purpose of a film and make thoughtful editing decisions aligned with project goals.
- Proficiency in professional editing workflows, including reliable audio and color finishing. Candidates should specify the editing software they use.
- Exceptional attention to detail, clear communication skills, and a dependable approach to turnaround times for revisions.
This position is focused exclusively on video editing. Responsibilities such as filming, social media account management, and production coordination are not part of this role.
