Shopify Developer

We are a growing online retailer specializing in handcrafted Damascus knives, outdoor gear, leather hats, and accessories. We are seeking a hands-on Shopify expert to manage our online store on a daily basis and drive sales growth through strategic product marketing. This role requires a proactive individual capable of handling end-to-end store operations while implementing effective marketing campaigns to boost customer engagement and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations:
Manage the Shopify store comprehensively, including product listings, collections, pricing, inventory, discounts, and checkout configurations. Write and optimize product listings with clear titles, descriptions, SEO metadata, and well-organized photos and variants. Maintain and update the theme, navigation, and landing pages, performing basic edits using Liquid, HTML, and CSS. Set up and manage Shopify apps related to reviews, email marketing, upsells, shipping, subscriptions, and other functionalities. Oversee order processing, fulfillment, shipping settings, returns, and customer service workflows. Track inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to prevent stock-outs, especially for best-selling items.

Product Marketing and Growth:
Plan and execute paid advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Shopping and Search, and TikTok. Build and manage email and SMS marketing flows using Klaviyo or Shopify Email, including welcome sequences, abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase follow-ups, and win-back campaigns. Launch new products with promotional offers, bundles, and seasonal campaigns. Manage Google Merchant Center and product feeds, expanding sales channels to platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, or TikTok Shop where appropriate. Improve conversion rates through A/B testing, optimizing page speed, product page layouts, and trust signals. Grow organic traffic via SEO strategies, blog content, and social media engagement. Coordinate product photography and short-form video content for advertisements and product listings.

Reporting:
Track key performance indicators including sales, conversion rates, average order value, return on ad spend, customer acquisition cost, and repeat purchase rate. Provide weekly performance reports along with actionable recommendations for ongoing improvement.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing or running a Shopify store with demonstrable results. Proven expertise in paid social media advertising and Google Ads, including budget management and optimizing return on ad spend. Strong knowledge of Shopify administration, app integrations, and theme customization. Experience with Klaviyo or similar email and SMS marketing platforms. Proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Shopify Analytics, and ad platform reporting tools. Excellent writing skills for product copy, advertisements, and email communications. Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience selling knives, outdoor gear, apparel, or accessories is a plus. Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central or other marketplace channels is desirable. Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or Photoshop, or video editing experience, are beneficial. Experience managing influencer or affiliate marketing programs is an advantage. Knowledge of the Shopify Plus platform is preferred. This is a remote position offering flexibility in work location.
