We are seeking a full-time, on-site Shopify Expert (PHP Expert) based in Rawalpindi. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Shopify stores, including themes, templates, and apps. This role requires proficiency in PHP, Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build new features, optimize site performance, and integrate third-party services and APIs. Ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing best practices for user experience (UX) and search engine optimization (SEO) are key aspects of the position. Collaboration with designers, marketers, and project managers is essential to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes, templates, and apps using PHP, Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Build new features and optimize the performance of Shopify stores to enhance user experience and site speed.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs related to payments, shipping, analytics, and other e-commerce functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end technical issues promptly.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for seamless user interaction.
- Implement UX and SEO best practices to improve site usability and search rankings.
- Collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and project managers to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain clean and secure codebases, and adhere to development standards.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify platform features and e-commerce trends to continuously improve store functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for Shopify theme and app development.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify platform features, including theme development, app integration, and e-commerce best practices.
- Skilled in performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting both front-end and back-end issues.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and third-party integrations related to payments, shipping, and analytics.
- Ability to translate complex business and design requirements into scalable, user-friendly technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and commitment to writing secure, maintainable code.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work efficiently within cross-functional teams in an on-site setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and familiarity with modern development workflows.
