Software Architect

We are looking for a Software Architect to lead the architectural vision and technical excellence of our engineering ecosystem. This role involves designing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that align with both current business needs and long-term technical goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and DevOps disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership: Define, design, and communicate end-to-end architectures for complex software systems. Translate business goals and technical requirements into modular, scalable, and maintainable architectures. Establish and uphold architectural principles, standards, and patterns across projects. Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technology evaluations.

Technical Strategy: Collaborate with engineering leads, product managers, and executives to shape long-term technical strategy and roadmap. Evaluate emerging technologies and tools, integrating those that add business or technical value. Ensure alignment between technical direction and business priorities.

System Design & Implementation: Architect distributed, event-driven, microservices-based systems for high-traffic applications. Define API standards, data flow models, integration patterns, and communication protocols. Guide teams in building resilient, observable, and secure systems. Design and review infrastructure components such as load balancing, caching, message queues, and data pipelines.

Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship to engineers and team leads. Review system designs and code to maintain architectural integrity and compliance with standards. Lead technical design reviews, proof of concepts, and architecture discussions. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Security, Compliance, and Performance: Embed secure-by-design principles in architectural decisions. Oversee data privacy, encryption, and access control frameworks. Ensure architectural choices support performance optimization and system observability.

Required Qualifications

- Over 13 years of professional experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in architecture and system design roles.
- Strong expertise in software design principles, distributed systems, and architectural patterns such as microservices, CQRS, DDD, and event-driven architectures.
- Deep knowledge of backend frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Node.js, .NET, Java) and frontend ecosystems (e.g., Vue.js, React, Angular).
- Proven experience designing real-time systems involving chat, streaming, WebSockets, or WebRTC.
- Extensive experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, RDS, and Lambda, along with infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in API design, database architecture (both SQL and NoSQL), and caching strategies like Redis and Memcached.
- Familiarity with Nginx, load balancing, and reverse proxy configurations.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with multi-region, multi-tenant, or high-availability system architectures.
- Knowledge of machine learning model integration, data streaming pipelines, or event sourcing.
- Background in SaaS, video streaming, or real-time communication platforms.
- Proven success leading architecture for large-scale production systems serving millions of users.
