Perseus Payments Inc., a Constellation Software company, develops PerseusPay—a cloud-native, PCI DSS-compliant payments platform serving marine, outdoor power equipment, and RV dealers in the US and Canada. This role offers the chance to develop new features on a live, scalable payments platform, owning projects end-to-end from design through production, including backend, UI, and payment processor integrations.

Key Responsibilities
- Own feature development from product requirement documents or user stories through to production, including clarifying scope, designing solutions, building, testing, and releasing behind feature flags.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, background processing, and database changes using C# and .NET technologies.
- Build and maintain React-based user interfaces for dealer portals, embedded payment pages, and checkout plugins.
- Integrate with payment processor APIs and webhooks, thoroughly analyzing processor documentation to identify critical edge cases.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in requirements and proactively communicate recommendations to the Product Owner and Director of R&D.
- Adapt quickly to changing scope and clearly communicate impacts on delivery timelines.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and adhere to SonarQube and secure coding standards.
- Ensure production stability with structured logging, error handling, idempotency, retries, and concurrency safety, especially for money-moving workflows.
- Support QA teams with test data and bug fixes, assisting in release validation.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, decision records, and Azure DevOps work items for traceability.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code within established security protocols.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years professional software development experience, with strong expertise in C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core REST API development.
- Proficient in SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, transaction management, and understanding of locking and deadlocks.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Service Bus, and Application Insights.
- Working knowledge of React and JavaScript sufficient to independently deliver UI features.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver features despite incomplete or evolving requirements, with examples ready for discussion.
- Ability to work autonomously across time zones, making informed decisions, documenting them, and escalating with recommendations when necessary.
- Strong written communication skills, as most collaboration occurs through written channels like Azure DevOps, pull requests, and Teams.
- Solid engineering practices including unit testing, code reviews, Git branching, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Azure DevOps tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Preferred candidates will have experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and agentic engineering practices including spec-driven development, context engineering, and test-driven feedback loops. Familiarity with payment processor integrations, Redis caching, Azure Service Bus patterns, Datadog, Azure DevOps pipelines, and Terraform is advantageous.
