QGI is a company dedicated to building systems where outcomes are transparent, explainable, and accountable by design. Their focus is on intelligence that can be observed, examined, and defended rather than relying on opaque or “black box” methods. QGI’s technology aims to transform uncertainty into clarity before any decisions are made, ensuring that intelligence is presented as a combination of decision, explanation, and evidence. This approach allows users to trust what is clearly understood rather than guesswork or blind faith.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support QGI’s explainable and accountable intelligence platforms. Implement scalable software solutions with clean, well-tested code. Participate actively in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research concepts into production-ready features. Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems to improve performance and reliability. Contribute to architectural decisions and enhance development processes and tooling. This role requires effective communication and self-management skills to work productively within a fully remote, distributed team environment.
Required Qualifications
A strong foundation in Computer Science, including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. Hands-on experience in software development with proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or Go. Practical skills in backend web development, including building RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrating with data storage systems. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts to create maintainable and modular codebases. Experience using version control systems like Git and working within collaborative development workflows. Familiarity with AI coding systems such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and experience with Agentic coding. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work independently in a remote setting while communicating clearly and collaborating effectively with research and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with cloud platforms or containerization technologies such as AWS, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes is advantageous. The role offers the flexibility of full-time remote work, allowing for a balanced and productive work environment. Joining QGI means contributing to cutting-edge technology that prioritizes transparency and accountability in AI, working alongside a team committed to redefining how intelligent systems make decisions.
