Software Engineer II (Software Development Specialist)

SmartPropFirm is seeking a full-time Software Development Specialist to join our fully remote Product & Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing software products tailored for the proprietary trading industry. These products include trading tools, customer dashboards, rewards systems, marketplaces, and other platform features. We are looking for a proactive engineer with strong technical fundamentals and practical full-stack development experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently solving problems, taking ownership of features, and delivering reliable solutions using modern technologies alongside AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain features across the web platform, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Build production-ready frontend and backend solutions using modern frameworks and tools.
- Take full ownership of features from development through testing and deployment.
- Integrate APIs, databases, authentication systems, and third-party services seamlessly.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues promptly.
- Write clean, well-structured, reusable, and thoroughly tested code.
- Conduct code reviews and actively contribute to improving engineering practices.
- Utilize AI development tools to accelerate development, debugging, and problem-solving processes.
- Collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with full-stack web application development.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, databases, authentication mechanisms, and application architecture.
- Experience working with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to debug complex issues and optimize application performance.
- Experience using AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Compensation includes a base salary of $700 USD per month, with the potential to earn up to an additional $300 USD per month in performance-based bonuses.
