Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development:
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and responsive web frontends. Create interactive interfaces for spatial data visualization, including GIS maps and 3D models of point clouds and digital twins. Manage relational and non-relational databases, optimizing queries for performance. Implement asynchronous task management using tools like Celery. Develop APIs, WebSockets, and webhooks to integrate frontend, backend, and computer vision pipelines. Build applications for both cloud and edge environments.

Computer Vision & Product Development:
Enhance and develop algorithms focused on spatial data presentation with GIS. Contribute to new feature design using cutting-edge computer vision techniques to advance digital twin technology. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope.

Engineering Practices:
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best software development methodologies. Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain quality and standards. Debug and resolve software issues promptly. Participate in architectural discussions to align technical solutions with business goals. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and QA engineers to integrate components and develop comprehensive test plans. Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Backend Development:
Proficient in Python with solid experience using the Django framework. At least two years of professional experience with backend technologies such as Flask, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Django REST Framework, or Java Spring. Strong knowledge of WebSockets, webhooks, and task queuing systems like Celery. Experience with caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached. Expertise in relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and sound database design principles.

Frontend Development:
Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React. Experience with mapping or 3D visualization libraries (e.g., Mapbox, CesiumJS, deck.gl, Three.js) is highly desirable. Ability to translate design mockups into responsive, user-friendly interfaces.

Cloud, Edge & DevOps:
Experience developing applications for cloud and edge environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and related services. Understanding of edge computing concepts including CDN and caching. Prior DevOps experience is preferred. Knowledge of ROS software and methodologies is a plus.

General Skills:
Solid grasp of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. Proficient with version control systems like Git and collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence. Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks. Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and within a team.
