Software Engineer

The role focuses on developing and maintaining scalable, high-quality software solutions by adhering to clean coding standards and Agile/SCRUM methodologies. The candidate will support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), cloud migration, test-driven development, code reviews, and release management to ensure smooth and reliable software deployments. Collaboration with business, infrastructure, and security teams is essential to implement enhancements, fix defects, and optimize production environments. Staying updated with industry trends and best practices is expected, along with providing ongoing application support, including participation in 24x7 support rotations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Android applications with a focus on clean, consistent, and maintainable code.
- Drive the adoption of advanced processes such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, cloud migration, and test-driven development within the team.
- Utilize defect tracking, source code control, and software release tools to maintain high-quality software releases.
- Participate in peer code reviews, offering constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Collaborate as an active member of a SCRUM team during the design and development phases.
- Support the transition from application development to production support to ensure timely and efficient issue resolution.
- Lead build and release planning, managing all necessary actions to deploy applications into production environments.
- Assist the development manager in planning, analysis, and defining high-level software strategies based on functional knowledge.
- Understand enterprise business systems and industry dynamics to align software solutions accordingly.
- Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies, applying them to architectural needs.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and industry best practices in all developed applications.
- Participate in rotating 24x7 support shifts to maintain product reliability.
- Work closely with business, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver enhancements and resolve production issues.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience in software development.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in Java and the Java Spring Boot framework.
- Experience working with backend databases such as Spanner, NoSQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful architecture and microservices, including JSON and XML data formats.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Understanding of modern development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- Experience with messaging middleware such as Kafka or SQS.
- Exposure to event-driven service architectures.
