Software Engineer - JAVA (Level IV) COSTA RICA - Remote

CONSULTFIZ LATAM, a wholly owned subsidiary of Confiz LLC, is seeking a highly experienced Engineer IV - Java based in Costa Rica. Key Responsibilities

- Design features, evaluate architectural designs, and provide constructive feedback to improve solutions.
- Influence and uphold quality standards by identifying, measuring, and addressing issues across the entire software solution.
- Detect performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for efficiency and scalability.
- Apply engineering principles combined with business insight to design, document, and implement robust solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, program managers, and product managers to define and deliver technical solutions.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Participate in defining, scoping, and estimating development tasks.
- Mentor junior developers and work collaboratively with peers to achieve team objectives.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and automation while continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
- Lead design and code reviews to ensure delivery of scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software.
- Support production systems, including on-call responsibilities such as PagerDuty monitoring.
- Foster a DevOps mindset by promoting cloud-based solutions and managing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience developing software using Java and Spring frameworks.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Proven expertise in system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency with SQL databases and foundational knowledge of NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, monitoring, and alerting tools.
- Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming platforms.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong interpersonal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like NewRelic and Splunk.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter.
- Exposure to AI Development Life Cycle (AI-DLC) and working with AI-native technologies.
