Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Typeface Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing custom fonts tailored to brand and production requirements, as well as refining existing typefaces to enhance their quality and usability. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of font metrics and digital typography to ensure fonts perform flawlessly across various media and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design new custom fonts that align with brand identity and production needs.
- Modify and improve existing fonts to enhance readability and aesthetic appeal.
- Adjust kerning, spacing, hinting, and glyph shapes to ensure clean and accurate printing.
- Set proper font metrics, including ascent, descent, line height, and Units Per Em (UPM), to maintain correct font height and baseline alignment.
- Configure special characters for all fonts, ensuring they display correctly without clipping in print, PDF, and other systems.
- Implement OpenType features such as ligatures and alternate characters when required.
- Export font files in various formats including TTF, OTF, and WOFF.
- Test and validate fonts within the production workflow to guarantee consistent and reliable output.
