Software Engineering Manager

JiBe is a cloud-based, fully integrated ERP system designed specifically for the shipping industry. Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of six members, addressing both their personal and professional development needs. You will actively participate in and lead design discussions alongside other technical leads and architects to shape the solution. Build and recruit a self-organizing agile team, implementing career development plans that enhance both technical skills and soft skills of team members.

Manage the full development lifecycle and oversee day-to-day team activities, taking complete ownership of the team’s products, ensuring their quality, and maintaining production environment and operational standards. Drive continuous improvements in development methodologies, tools, and processes to optimize team performance.

Balance your time effectively by dedicating 50% to team management and growth, and the remaining 50% to hands-on coding and conducting code reviews. Collaborate closely with engineering managers, product teams, support staff, and other stakeholders to evolve, maintain, and operate your products. Maintain high standards of development quality and delivery in line with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of seven years of software development experience is essential, with at least four years focused on development and code-level design using Node.js, Java, or C#. You should have at least two years of experience working with relational databases.

Proven experience managing teams for a minimum of three consecutive years, leading groups of at least five members. Strong practical knowledge of development quality methodologies and testing is required, along with familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.

Excellent interpersonal, planning, time management, and organizational skills are necessary. You must demonstrate the ability to prioritize, plan, and drive execution effectively. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities are expected.

The ideal candidate is proactive, independent, mature, and self-driven, capable of working with minimal supervision within a diverse team environment. Proficiency in verbal and written English communication is required. Additionally, a willingness to gradually expand into full-stack development while maintaining a backend focus is important.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

While expertise in every area is not expected, experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous: at least two years working with NoSQL databases, hands-on experience with AWS and its services, and comfort operating in both Windows and Linux production environments.

Familiarity with agile methodologies is beneficial, as is practical experience in performance analysis and optimization, application security, data streaming, or additional cloud platforms. Experience collaborating with international technical managers and colleagues will also be considered a strong asset.
