Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of quality assurance activities. This includes analyzing requirements, designing tests, performing functional and API testing, managing defects, and contributing to automation efforts. The role demands a solid foundation in manual QA practices combined with practical experience in automation testing.

Key Responsibilities

- Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify relevant test scenarios.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and prepare necessary test data.
- Conduct functional, integration, system, and end-to-end testing to ensure software quality.
- Execute various testing types including smoke, sanity, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Perform API testing and validation to verify backend functionality.
- Log, track, and verify defects efficiently using Jira.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), release validation, and production verification processes.
- Participate in automation scripting and actively contribute to automation testing initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance the automation framework to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Develop and update automated regression test suites to improve testing efficiency.
- Prepare detailed test reports and quality metrics for stakeholders.
- Apply strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance principles and methodologies throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams to align QA activities with development cycles.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- At least 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in automation testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Jira for defect tracking and experience with API testing tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL to support backend data validation.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, sound decision-making, and confidence in handling QA challenges.
