Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery (MWD), established in 1989, is a premier provider of White Glove furniture delivery services across the USA. Operating in 44 cities with a team of over 1,200 professionals, MWD specializes in eCommerce furniture delivery, warehousing, and comprehensive white-glove solutions. The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining high-quality assurance standards and testing practices across MWD’s software applications. This role involves designing automated testing frameworks, executing thorough functional and non-functional tests, integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure software excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve QA processes, standards, and quality practices across all active projects.
- Analyze functional requirements to design detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data matrices.
- Plan and execute end-to-end functional, regression, integration, API, database, web, and mobile testing.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, automating critical and repetitive test suites.
- Utilize industry-standard QA tools such as GitHub, Postman, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, JMeter, k6, SQL Server, and SonarQube.
- Integrate automated quality testing into modern CI/CD pipelines to ensure release readiness.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects, performing root-cause analysis on recurring issues.
- Establish QA metrics, release quality validation workflows, and provide actionable status reporting.
- Proactively identify quality risks, recommend process improvements throughout the software development lifecycle, and mentor team members on test automation best practices.
- Collaborate closely with Development, Product, Business, and DevOps teams to maintain top-tier software quality from planning through production release.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with core QA practices including requirement analysis, test case design, defect tracking, and release reporting.
- Proven expertise in test automation using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Strong experience in API testing using Postman and database querying with SQL Server.
- Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with mobile automation tools such as Appium or performance/load testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Familiarity with code quality and security scanning tools such as SonarQube.
