Software Quality Engineer (AI-Augmented Testing & Critical Analysis)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer with expertise in AI-augmented testing and critical analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by thoroughly analyzing requirements, designing comprehensive test strategies, and leveraging AI tools to enhance testing efficiency. This role demands strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with various testing methodologies, and a proactive approach to identifying risks and defects throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, ambiguities, contradictions, and potential risks.
- Execute a variety of testing types including functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and edge-case testing.
- Utilize AI technologies to generate test scenarios, test data, scripts, log summaries, and perform root-cause analysis while actively identifying hallucinations and weak outputs.
- Investigate defects using browser developer tools, application logs, API responses, database records, and monitoring tools to provide accurate diagnostics.
- Test REST APIs by validating request/response contracts, verifying authorization and error handling, and using SQL to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct load and performance testing with tools such as JMeter and Locust.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Python, or JavaScript.
- Validate bug fixes, assess regression risks, and continuously refine testing strategies to uphold quality standards.
- Document defects clearly, communicate technical risks effectively, and take ownership of quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in software testing.
- Experience with AI-assisted testing and development tools is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, risk-based testing, and boundary value analysis skills.
- Proficiency with Postman, SQL, Jira, and browser developer tools.
- Solid understanding of functional, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of defect investigation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and fundamentals of test automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including requirement analysis and professional defect reporting.
- Ability to identify assumptions, detect contradictions, evaluate competing explanations, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Selenium, Python, JavaScript, PyCharm, Visual Studio, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and distributed systems is preferred.
- Experience in enterprise or SaaS application testing is an advantage.
- Demonstrated strong ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving skills.
