Solar Design Engineer - TJ / 1923577

Our client, Ghulam Faruque Group, is seeking a Solar Design Engineer to join their team in Karachi. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing detailed designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and electrical power systems. This role emphasizes creating efficient and reliable solar solutions by applying strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in renewable energy projects. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of solar technologies across various applications while maintaining high standards of design quality and compliance with industry regulations. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in design processes is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed designs and layouts for solar PV systems, including On-Grid, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Conduct electrical system design and power flow analysis to optimize system efficiency and reliability.
- Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, HelioScope, PVSyst, and ETAP to create and refine solar and electrical system designs.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
- Perform site assessments and feasibility studies to support project development and identify the best design solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design calculations necessary for project approvals and execution.
- Review and update design drawings and specifications as projects evolve and modifications are required.
- Ensure all designs comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations related to renewable energy systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting design-related issues during installation and commissioning phases to facilitate successful project completion.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices in solar PV system design to continuously improve design quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in solar PV design or electrical power systems.
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, HelioScope, PVSyst, and ETAP.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design principles and renewable energy technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
