Spec-driven development - 10x Engineer

This is an onsite position based in Islamabad; remote work is not available. Melior ITS develops AI-powered products used daily by over 110 European companies across telecom, construction, energy, and government sectors. As an ISO 27001/27701 certified company, we operate on self-hosted H100 GPUs and focus on delivering real, production-ready solutions rather than concepts. We seek an engineer who actively integrates AI tooling such as Claude Code, BMAD, and Cursor into their core workflow—not merely someone interested in AI. The ideal candidate can independently take a business problem and deliver a complete production system at a pace that outstrips traditional teams. Experience building billing engines, payment integrations, or financial platform architecture is highly valued. Candidates who have shipped products in both startup environments and enterprise-grade settings will thrive here.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and deploy full-stack systems including backend services, frontend interfaces, APIs, and data flows.
- Own features end-to-end, from specifications and architecture documents through deployment, following BMAD, PRDs, and technical specifications.
- Adhere to a disciplined, specification-driven development process where AI accelerates execution but does not replace critical thinking.
- Build AI-assisted workflows and intelligent agents that automate multi-step processes and respond to real-time operational data.
- Design and integrate billing, payment, and financial systems using processor-agnostic architectures.
- Collaborate closely with domain experts embedded within client operations to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Take ownership of architecture decisions, technology selection, deployment strategies, and continuous improvement based on client feedback.
- Ensure all solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and production-ready.

Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in both startup and enterprise environments.
- Strong full-stack development skills with .NET / ASP.NET Core (including design patterns and standards), ReactJS or AngularJS, and Node.js with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Proven ability to own and manage the complete technology stack when necessary.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and services.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or MongoDB, including data modeling, database design, and query optimization.
- Expertise in designing microservices, REST APIs, and web or mobile clients.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.
- Practical experience with Docker and containerized deployment workflows.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, BMAD, Cursor, or equivalents.
- Ability to use AI tools in a disciplined, spec-driven manner while independently ensuring code quality, security, performance, and correctness.
- Strong ownership mindset, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and technical decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience designing and building AI agents, agentic workflows, and multi-step automation processes.
- Background in ERP, CMS, FinTech, billing and payments, payroll, or mass-payout systems.
- Experience developing real-time systems using WebRTC, SignalR, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.
- Prior work with European-based enterprise clients.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Proven ability to work directly with business and domain experts to translate operational requirements into scalable software solutions.
