Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management and Operations:
Oversee inventory management activities across all warehouse locations, ensuring adherence to company policies and SOPs. Develop and implement plans to optimize storage utilization and maintain proper stacking, handling, and storage of materials. Conduct regular physical visits to monitor store performance and accuracy through physical inventory exercises. Ensure compliance with HSEQ guidelines and procedures at all inventory management (IM) stores.
Stock Monitoring and Distribution:
Regularly review stock levels of fast-moving and critical items using SAP reports to analyze overall inventory status. Coordinate with the Planning department to manage material availability, consumption, and delivery schedules proactively. Collaborate with internal replenishment and Quality & Assurance departments to resolve issues related to goods receipt notes (GRN), warranty claims, and rejected materials.
People Management:
Supervise store location supervisors and workforce to ensure smooth store operations. Coordinate with location in-charges to maintain adequate staffing levels and address workforce gaps in collaboration with HR. Lead team-building efforts, assign targets, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback. Plan and budget workforce requirements, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate training and development for subordinates.
Store Facility Management:
Manage warehouse facilities by reviewing operational quality, storage efficiency, and layout plans. Conduct regular facility inspections and coordinate maintenance activities with administrative and related departments. Identify facility shortcomings and initiate corrective actions. Lead in-house projects to upgrade facilities using available resources and coordinate civil projects at various IM locations. Prepare and manage budgets related to facility maintenance.
Controlling, Reporting, and Process Improvement:
Apply analytical and logical thinking to explore solutions and assess feasibility for process improvements. Analyze SAP and IT processes to identify opportunities for automation, enhanced MIS reporting, and procedural updates. Coordinate with the IT department to initiate projects, communicate requirements, and oversee project execution including user acceptance testing (UAT) and training. Review data trends to recommend operational improvements and update SOPs and the IM Manual accordingly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in inventory management or related fields.
