Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) – Autism Centre is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join their team in Baldia Town, Karachi. The ideal candidate will work closely with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities, providing specialized speech and language therapy to enhance their communication skills. This role requires a professional who is committed to making a positive impact through individualized therapy plans and collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for children with autism and related developmental challenges.
- Develop and implement tailored speech and language therapy plans based on assessment outcomes.
- Deliver targeted interventions aimed at improving speech development, language abilities, and social communication skills.
- Collaborate effectively with psychologists, behavior therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide guidance and counseling to parents on communication strategies and recommend home-based activities to support therapy goals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate therapy records, including assessment reports, progress notes, and other documentation.
- Actively participate in case discussions, parent meetings, and awareness activities to support holistic care and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech & Language Pathology or Speech Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working specifically with children on the autism spectrum or similar developmental conditions will be highly valued. The position offers a monthly salary of up to Rs80,000. The role is based in Karachi and requires in-person attendance at the Autism Centre in Baldia Town.
